Help for Ukraine

This term Year 5 and 6 have been learning about refugees, and prepared and presented an assembly to encourage the children of LCS to collect some items to donate to Ukrainian refugees via the Barnabas Fund.

We had an overwhelming amount of donations, and Year 5 and 6 made two trips this week to take them to the Globe Church who will pass on our donations to the Barnabas Fund. While we were there, we had the opportunity to ask some questions about how our donations will help support refugees. Thank you to everyone who was able to donate some items!

Comments from the students:

"I think that people who are just like us are going through a really tough time and their living conditions are bad and we want to help them" - Jemimah, Y5 "I believe that it is very tough for children and mothers to leave their home and only be able to take few items. But on the bright side it is very heartwarming to see all the people helping" - Killian, Y5 "Life could be really hard without everyday needs, and giving donations to Ukraine is something that I'm willing and happy to do" - Mia, Y5
