On Wednesday 20th November, Years 5 and 6 visited the Imperial War Museum. This was a valuable experience supporting learning that Year 5 had carried out on the First World War with Mrs Croft and more generally building their awareness of the impact of the war on all those involved.
We were rightly saddened to read about how horrible this war had been, but also heard stories of bravery and care
We spent most of our time in the exhibition about 'The Great War' where children read stories about soldier's individual experiences, such as a jacket that showed where a sergeant had been shot in the shoulder and a rifle that had been captured in a daring mission. It was a fascinating and enlightening trip.
