In years 3 and 4 this week, oranges have been transformed into globes in order to learn about the lines of latitude. We discovered that the lines of latitude dictate some of the climates we expect - tropical climate in between the tropics where the globe has direct sunlight. Polar climate at the Arctic and Antarctic circles which receive very indirect sunlight. Being creative as we learn helps us remember details better.
