In Maths today, Year 4 were using pentominoes to create their own, original shapes. They worked out the area and perimeter of these. We discovered that even when we make shapes with the same area as our partner, the perimeters were different to each other! We had a challenge to make a shape with the greatest and the smallest perimeters and found that the shapes we made with lots of edges had a greater perimeter than the rectangles we made.
