In Year 6 we always have a much awaited post 11+ 'Rocky road' making lesson in maths. Obviously, we use this to help us practise real life measuring skills as we follow a recipe to make these delicious treats. This year we realised the scales weren’t very accurate so we resorted to checking our quantities with fractions - harder than you think when you have three bars of chocolate but two of them are dark chocolate, and the other one milk chocolate! Lots of fun was had and so much rocky road was made that the teachers all got some too.
